An endowed scholarship established with a gift from Walter N. Lutz '85 & Karen McCullah Lutz '88, the Walter '85 & Karen McCullah '88 Lutz Scholarship Endowment will provide funds annually to an outstanding undergraduate student scholar who demonstrates a financial need and has a strong academic background, as determined by the University's Office of Financial Aid & Scholarships. The appointment of a student as a Lutz Scholar shall follow the University's guidelines for the awarding of scholarships. The Donors direct that this endowed scholarship shall be used to assist one undergraduate student each year; and, therefore, they expect that as the endowment for this scholarship may increase in value over time, the amount of this annual scholarship also may increase accordingly. At the discretion of the University's Office of Financial Aid & Scholarships, a student receiving this scholarship may be re-appointed as a Lutz Scholar in subsequent years, for up to three additional years.
