Scholarship Overview
An endowed scholarship established by John L. and Kay D. Neff that is intended to benefit JMU students who exhibit outstanding academic achievement and are enrolled full-time or a high school student applying for full-time admission on a four- year graduation track. The university will determine outstanding academic achievement. First preference shall be given to students attending the university who are residents of Bath County, VA. Secondary preference shall not be enacted until three scholarships have been granted to Bath County residents. Secondary preference shall be given to students attending the university who are residents of Augusta County, VA. The recipient must be having difficulty (or, in case of an entering freshman, will have difficulty) meeting the educational expenses at JMU and must not be receiving any funds through athletic scholarships. Preferably, there will be a recipient in each of the freshman, sophomore, junior and senior classes. This scholarship will be administered by the James Madison University Director of Scholarship and the Financial Aid Office.
