Scholarship Overview
An endowed scholarship established with a gift from William A. Spillman, III and David R, Spillman, on behalf of their father William A. Spillman, Jr., the Spillman Family Scholarship Endowment shall provide financial resources to support the awarding of scholarships for students at James Madison University who are from Culpeper County in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Each year, these scholarships shall be awarded, whether for full or partial scholarships, to eligible students in a manner at the discretion of the University's Office of Financial Aid & Scholarships. Students appointed as Spillman Scholars may include incoming freshman, transfer students, and students already attending James Madison University. Once a student is appointed a Spillman Scholar, the scholarship may be renewed, for up to four academic years beyond the first year of study, provided that the student remains in good standing with the University. Beyond the criteria above, the appointment of students as Spillman Scholars shall follow the University's guidelines for the awarding of scholarships.
