My current research focuses on the genomics of the diseased and developing vertebrae retina, applying computational tools to elucidate potential pathways and transcripts of interest. Through transcriptomic analysis of bulk RNA-seq data, combined with immunohistochemistry data from diseased vertebrae retina, we identify pathways and cell types affected by differential expression of genes. Similar pipelines are applied to characterize the transcriptomes of developing retinal organoids, with the potential to detect novel isoforms that drive early retinal development.
