The AmeriCorps VISTA is responsible for expanding and enhancing the overall capacity of The Pantry on campus to address food insecurity among low-income students by: increasing awareness and education among low-income students around the food pantry, available resources for basic needs, and accessing SNAP; expanding partnerships both on and off campus to enhance and sustain food pantry services; and ensuring that future resources are available to low-income students as they work to attain their educational goals and transition out of poverty.

Bio: 

Zora graduated from JMU with a sociology degree in 2024 and also worked with our office. They’re involved with the radio, and love vegan cooking, service, and trying to finish a book within a reasonable time period. Over time serving and working at CEVC, Zora relaized they wanted to make a career out of service.
