Our community partners have shared their needs and projects below the Volunteer NOW button. These opportunities can be linked to a specific academic course, or they can be done independently. All of them, however, are only open to students wanting to make a minimum of weekly 1 hour semester-long commitment, to a specific community partner.

Other ways to get involved:
- Dukes Making A Difference (DMAD) — DMAD brings 100 incoming first-years and transfer students together before Weeks of Welcome to volunteer with a non-profit partner.
- Alternative Break Program (ABP) — JMU offers student-led service breaks to locations across the United States and abroad.
- Madison Community Scholars — Strengthen your leadership, organizational and interpersonal skills while assisting local community organizations.
Employment opportunities:
- Federal Work Study Opportunities — Work with a local nonprofit or public school while attending school through the FWS program.
