Barriers Experienced by Marginalized Individuals in Higher Education Institutions

Resources collected by Yingjiu Nie

Barriers to achieving their full potential are multifaceted for students of color and other marginalized individuals in higher education institutions, particularly predominately white institutions. This Inclusive Excellence Toolbox explores these barriers experienced by a number of groups. Resources in various forms, such as books, articles published in scholarly journals and magazines, opinions of organizations, etc., are referenced. In addition to raising awareness of barriers, some resources also feature efforts and responses undertaken at the individual or organizational level to remove these barriers.
