Sunday Preconference Offerings
Virginia Association of Driver Education and Traffic Safety (VADETS)
The registration process for the on-site VADETS Conference on Sunday July 7, 2024 from 10:00 - 5:00, at James Madison University is available on the VADETS website. The $80 registration fee includes a VADETS membership, the July 9th in person conference (includes lunch), and an additional virtual conference on October 2nd! Recertification points will be awarded for both events.
First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor Training
Offered by Kelly Clark Kelly.clark@lcps.org will be leading this pre-institute session. It will be from 10:00-12:00 and 1:00-5:00pm on Sunday, July 7, 2024.
Bicycle Education Certification Course
The Bike Safe, Bike Smart course certification will be offered with part of the class being on zoom prior to the Sunday at JMU. There will also be an online assignment that will need to be completed prior to the in person hands-on at JMU. The class will start promptly at 10 a.m. on July 7, 2024 . National Archery in Schools Program
The National Archery in the Schools Program is an in-school program aimed at improving educational performance among students in grades 4th – 12th. And through it, students are learning focus, self-control, discipline, patience, and the life lessons required to be successful in the classroom and in life. By becoming a certified NASP Basic Archery Instructor (BAI), you can bring archery to your students and teach them this lifelong skill. Virginia NASP has over 600 active schools and is continuing to grow! For schools that have never participated in NASP, equipment costs are covered by NASP and the Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources.
