Carol Lena enjoys working with CISE faculty and other partners on grant development and management, research, and other initiatives to further the College’s research footprint and the advancement of the UN Sustainable Development Goals. She serves as the Steering Committee Chair for the Shenandoah Valley Regional Center of Expertise on Education for Sustainable Development, also known as Sustainable Shenandoah Valley. Prior to her work with JMU, Carol Lena held various positions in the non-profit environmental sector as well as in the software development industry. She is thrilled that her daily work now envelopes science and technology as well as an emphasis on research, environmental protection and sustainability.
