Dr. Meza is an Assistant Professor in the Educational Foundations and Exceptionalities Department in the College of Education at James Madison University. Originally from Colombia, South America, she came to the United States as an international student, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a Master’s in Education from James Madison University. She later completed her Ph.D. in Multilingual/Multicultural Education at George Mason University.

Dr. Meza has extensive experience teaching Spanish language and conversation, English as a second language for adult learners, as well as learning theories and diversity in education. She also serves as the Director of the JMU Dual Master’s Degree in Education in partnership with the University of Salamanca, Spain, focusing on Spanish Language and Culture for Educators.

Her research interests include global education, family engagement in P-12 education, and diversity in higher education.
