Professional Experience

Hannah Smith has been teaching in Harrisonburg City Public Schools for nine years. She taught first grade for three years and then taught in both kindergarten and second grade on the Spanish side of a dual language program for five years. She most recently is working as an ESL teacher at the middle school level. Teaching in diverse language and bilingual classrooms has led to a professional interest in focusing on students’ acquisition of languages through biliteracy instruction and content and language integration.
