Our Approach To Research
MCCD-affiliated faculty, staff, and students engage in action research. Action research helps communities address social issues like poverty, crime, behavioral health crises, or inequities in education with research solutions that foster participation and empowerment. This includes working collaboratively to set the research agenda, define the problem, identify outcomes, and make decisions. The intent is to introduce rigorous methodological practice and innovative data management approaches to programs in a way that demonstrates deeper impacts in policy and practice.
