Ava Jacobs is a lifelong Virginia native and a 2022 graduate from James Madison University with a BA in English. In her free time, she is a creative writer, film buff, occasional hiker, and avid horror aficionado. Still figuring out her path in life, she is currently finishing her graduate degree to feed her personal fascination with the humanities and literature as an artform. Though she holds out hope of pursuing a career in editing or publishing as well as a possible third degree somewhere later in life.

Her main academic interests lie in queer theory, experimental literary formalism, folklore, horror, and the Gothic. More than anything, she is looking to use her time here to continue exploring these topics and the opportunities offered by the field alongside furthering her own personal and professional development.
