Haylee Chase Edwards is a reader, writer, scholar, and lover of all things creative. She received her B.A. in English with a minor in Medieval and Renaissance Studies from James Madison University in 2022. Her research interests include subaltern identity in Early Modern and Gothic novels as well as the effect of transformative fiction on contemporary readership. Haylee has six published poems, all appearing in IRIS Literary and Arts Magazine, and her academic work has been published in the James Madison Undergraduate Research Journal (JMURJ). She has guest lectured in several gen-ed English classes on topics ranging from Japanese horror manga to the politics of Paradise Lost.
Haylee's extracurricular activities include volunteering as an English Department Ambassador, serving as Chapter President of Sigma Tau Delta, the National English Honor Society, and co-hosting an upcoming public humanities podcast titled "The Dilettante Scholars." She is Furious Flower's current Graduate Assistant where she serves as an editorial assistant, transcriber, and outreach coordinator for the center, among other administrative tasks.
