Scholarship Overview

The purpose of this gift is to establish The Semper Fi Scholarship Endowment, named in memory of Dr. Gary Juhan's father and mother; Ed Juhan served as a Marine Paratrooper in World War II. Edna Juhan served in the Cadet Nurse Corps and as a Registered Nurse for over forty years. The scholarship is also given to honor Dr. Juhan's children, Rachael and Cagle Juhan.

Eligibility Requirements

• Recipients shall be full-time students majoring in Hospitality Management or Sport and Recreation Management.
• Recipient shall have lost a parent before admission or while a student at James Madison University.
• Scholarship is renewable and will be awarded at the discretion of the Director of the Hart School of Hospitality, Sport and Recreation Management.
• Selection of these scholarship recipients will follow the university's guidelines for awarding scholarships.
• In the event there is not a student who meets these criteria, funds will be held over to be expended in subsequent years.
