Goodbye IT Test Scoring, Hello Gradescope!

Information Technology-Computing

Attention faculty: IT Test Scoring is in its last semester as a service of Information Technology! After the Spring 2025 grade deadline of May 20, the IT Help Desk will no longer accept Scantron forms for grading.

As announced last semester, test scoring functions are migrating to Gradescope, a service supported by the JMU Libraries and the Gabbin Assessment and Testing Center. Gradescope Bubble Sheet is an alternative to Scantron that allows faculty to print bubble sheet forms, use them to administer in-person exams, scan them to PDF format using any available scanner (public scanners are available in the Gabbin Assessment and Testing Center), and upload them to Gradescope for grading. There are several benefits to Gradescope, including more accessible forms, faster turnaround, self-service, advanced analytics, and connectivity with Canvas.

If you have questions about the IT Test Scoring (Scantron) service, please contact the IT Help Desk at (540)568-3555 or helpdesk@jmu.edu.

If you have questions about Gradescope Bubble Sheet, please contact JMU Libraries' Learning Innovations & Design Desk at (540)568-6799 or LIDdesk@jmu.edu.
