Alcohol (Responsible); Hazing (Not Responsible)

Incident(s) Description:
In the course of investigating a report of alleged hazing, it was determined that at an event during Fall 2023 the following behaviors occurred: alcohol provided to underage members; alcohol consumed by underage members.

Outcome(s):
Warning through Spring 2024 with once-a-month review meetings between a FSL staff member and the President and/or designated Executive Team member(s) in attendance. During these meetings, chapter leaders receive additional support on stewarding chapter culture change around the alcohol culture that seems intertwined with the new member experience and maintenance of non-hazing new member practices

New Member Experience Workshop Series: the chapter needs to attend a training/development workshop series facilitated by the Administrative office in conjunction with JMU FSL team with 100% chapter executive board attendance (provide proof of completion to FSL office). Follow-up workshops for the entire chapter should occur in the Fall semester - Executive Board: August 23, 2023; 100% of chapter membership: October 1, 2023

Sober Monitor/Health & Safety Education workshop to be completed by 100% of the chapter (provide proof of completion to FSL office) - October 1, 2023
