Incident(s) Description:
In the course of investigating a report of hazing, it was determined that at a pass down event in April 2023 the following behaviors occurred: alcohol provided to underage members; alcohol consumed by underage members; members were asked embarrassing questions.
It was also determined that at a pass down event on 4/26/2024 the following behaviors occurred: members were forced to wear embarrassing costumes; calisthenics; alcohol provided to underage members; alcohol consumed by underage members.
Outcome(s):
Disciplinary Probation through Spring 2025, including once-a-month review meetings between a FSL staff member, Delta Delta Delta Headquarters Staff Member, the President and/or designated Executive Team member(s) in attendance.
During these meetings, chapter leaders receive additional support on stewarding chapter culture change and maintenance of safe social practices
Social event safety education to be facilitated by the JMU staff with 80% chapter attendance/completion. The chapter may not hold a social event with alcohol until this program is completed. Proof of completion with attendance records to be provided to the FSL team, completed once the chapter schedules
Sisterhood development program facilitated by Tri-Delta headquarters staff, due October 1, 2024
Review of the “Senior Sendoff” event and proposed new version to be approved by the FSL team and headquarters staff, due October 1, 2024
