Patick is excited to return to James Madison University as an adjunct professor after receiving his undergraduate degree in International Affairs there in 2015. During his time at JMU, he developed a strong foundation in global politics and international relations, which ignited his passion for addressing complex global challenges.  He went on to earn a master's degree in Global Policy from Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) in 2022, where he further honed his expertise in international policy analysis and strategic planning. 

Patrick's academic interests are deeply rooted in international post-conflict recovery, crisis response, risk management, and the interplay between civilian and military institutions in these areas.  His research focuses on developing effective strategies for rebuilding societies after conflict, enhancing resilience to crises, and improving coordination between civilian and military actors in peacebuilding efforts. 

Currently, Patrick works as a Senior Specialist for the Department of Defense, where he is responsible for secuirty cooperation programming in Europe. In this role, he collaborates with international partners to stregthen security frameworks, enhance mutual defense capabilities, and promote regional stability. His work involes strategic planning, policy development, and implementation of security initiatives that supporrt U.S. and allied interests. 

Previously, Patrick served as an advisor at the Department of State's Bureau of Political-Military Affairs. There, he provided critical insight and recommendations on a range of issues, including international security cooperation, climate security, countering corruption in the security sector, among other priority topics. Patrick has also gained significant international experience at the Department of State through his service as a political-military officer in Karachi, Pakistan, and as a stabilization advisor in Raqqa, Syria. In Karachi, he worked on strengthening bilateral defense relations and addressing security challenges in the region. In Raqqa, he played a key role in stabilization efforts, working to restore essential services, support local governance, and facilitate the return of displaced populations.
