Danny (or Dan as much of JMU calls him) Harrison (he/him) is excited to be part of SADAH as the Digital Design and Fabrication Manager. For over 25 years he’s worked in the arts in various capacities; from performing with orchestras and small ensembles to working with theatres in Northern VA and the Boston area, building sets, and props, designing performance/event lighting, inspections, safety supervising, equipment repair, theatrical constructions/renovations, and rigging for multiple universities in the New England area, regional and national tours, films, and live event/production and fabrication companies.
Outside companies he’s worked for—he has collaborated with mixed media artists, designers, sculptors, and painters on various projects, he does woodturning, woodworking, and metal fabrication, and is currently developing cost-effective, affordable, scalable vertical farming solutions to counter the current barrier to entry for small form indoor food and herb production with a focus on using easy to source and recycled\recyclable materials. He looks forward to bringing his passions and past experiences to collaborate and support the SADAH students, faculty, and programs in the Studio Center.
