Scholarship Overview

An endowed scholarship established with an initial gift from Mr. and Mrs. Robert H. Strickler (Twig & Lorraine) which provided a basis for the establishment of a "Class of 1952 Scholarship" endowment. This scholarship is intended to benefit an entering JMU freshman with strong academic, extra-curricular, and community service credentials. Priority will be given to those students with academic merit achievements and secondary consideration will be given to financial need as determined by the JMU Office of Financial Aid. The recipient will be selected as an entering freshman and will continue to receive the scholarship as long as he/she remains an active, full-time student at JMU and continues to meet the scholarship requirements. If at any time the student fails to meet the requirements or when the student graduates, a new entering freshman student will be selected based on the established criteria. The JMU Director of Scholarships will administer this scholarship.
