In these four weeks, students will:

• Make simple models of technology to understand how they work.
• Design a solution to make a computerized technology easier to use.
• Use engineering to build a sailboat model and use technology to test it.
• Learn from a series of lessons that HCPS EL and Science teachers approved as (1) consistent with what they are learning in school and (2) providing grade-level appropriate enrichment.
• Work in small groups with 2-3 trained and caring JMU students who represent a diverse make-up of career interests and backgrounds.
• Practice talking about what they did so they can tell you all about it.
• Have fun while learning and connecting with positive role models!

En estas cuatro semanas los estudiantes van a:

• Crear simple modelos de tecnología para entender mejor cómo funcionan.
• Diseñar una solución para hacer tecnología computarizada mas fácil para usar.
• Usar ingeniería para construir un modelo de un velero y la tecnología para probarlo.
• Aprender de una serie de lecciones aprobado por HCPS EL y profesores de ciencias como (1) consistente con lo que están aprendiendo en la escuela y (2) brindando enriquecimiento adecuado para el nivel de grado.
• Trabajar en grupos pequeños con 2-3 estudiantes de JMU que son entrenados, simpáticos, representan intereses profesionales, y orígenes diversos.
• ¡Practicar hablando de lo que hicieron para que te puedan contar lo que aprendieron!
