Every summer, the James Madison University Speech-Language Clinic offers an intensive therapy-based camp experience for children with speech-language impairments from our community. These services are available free-of-charge due to generous funding from the Scottish Rite (a division of the Freemasons). Our graduate students, under the supervision of state licensed speech-language pathologists, provide individualized intervention in a fun and collaborative educational environment..
Applications for the 2025 David Kruger Scottish Rite Speech-Language Summer Camp are now available!
Dates: June 9, 2025- July 11, 2025, Mondays-Thursdays
Note: Camp will be closed June 19 and July 3
Time: 9:00 -11:30 am
Location: Eastern Mennonite Elementary School
This year we are grateful to Eastern Mennonite Elementary School for providing the location for our camp! We accept applications for children ages 5- 8 with a pre-existing speech-language diagnosis. All applications are due March 10, 2025. We hope to alert the community of application status in mid-April.
Applications must be completed by a parent/guardian along with a recommendation from the child’s speech-language pathologist. Please include a copy of their most recent IEP or Plan of Care to help us ensure continuity of care. Since this is an intensive program, participants must be able to commit to attending the entire five weeks. Space is limited as we have a 1:1 ratio of campers to graduate students.
