Class of 2026
Lydia believes that “engineering demands the ability to tackle problems from multiple perspectives, and JMU's program embodies this approach.” She joined because “its interdisciplinary structure offers students a well-rounded experience while allowing them the flexibility to pursue a path tailored to their interests.” Lydia wishes to make a meaningful impact on students as they choose their future careers by helping young students access STEM opportunities.
Lydia belongs to Theta Tau and the Madison Aerospace Club. Her hobbies include cooking, embroidery, hiking, painting, reading and working out.
How is JMU Engineering preparing you for your future?
“JMU Engineering has provided me with countless opportunities to learn and grow through fellowship and the learning-by-doing curriculum. The program heavily emphasizes hands-on projects and team-based work, cultivating invaluable skills that I regularly use in and out of the workforce. The professors within the engineering departments have also been invaluable resources of information and mentorship, helping me navigate my career as a growing engineer.”
Advice for prospective students:
"Take initiative and view every experience as a chance to learn. A major part of the learning process is asking questions and utilizing available resources. Success and failure are both avenues of learning and will serve as your greatest teachers in life."
