In 2014, CISR partnered with the National Committee for Demining and Rehabilitation (NCDR) in Jordan to implement a series of ERW Risk Education (RE) team preparation workshops for adult Syrian refugee residents of the refugee settlements in northern Jordan. NCDR trainers instructed adult refugees on ERW safety messages and on how to work in teams to communicate what they have learned regarding landmine and UXO awareness to their peers in order to increase the reach of the project beyond those refugees directly receiving training from the program team. The adult component of the risk education project trained 75 adults through five 13-day long workshops from January through May. The table below illustrates the diversity of participants in the workshops, based on gender and area of Syria from which they originated before becoming refugees.
