- Objectionable behavior that interferes with a safe, pleasant, respectful and productive environment is prohibited.
- The sponsoring organization of an event is responsible for the actions of all guests and participants, as well as ensuring that the maximum room capacity is not exceeded at any time.
- Guests who fail to comply with CoB policies may be asked to modify their conduct or leave the building. Campus security may be summoned if necessary.
- Violations of University Policy, Facility Policy, State and/or federal laws may result in loss of reservation privileges and cancellation of existing reservations.
- Parking in any service, handicapped or fire lane is strictly prohibited.
- Aramark Inc. has exclusive rights to provide food and beverages on campus. Arrangements associated with food and beverages for any event must be coordinated through the Special Events Catering Office (540-568-6637). To have non-catered food you must obtain approval from JMU Dining Services.
- If the University is closed for any reason, all events scheduled in the building will be canceled.
- Weapons, fireworks, explosives and dangerous items are prohibited within the building and on all University property.
- Electronic cigarettes, vaporizers and tobacco products cannot be used inside.
- Alcohol is prohibited within the building unless it is provided at an approved University event.
- Tampering with the fire systems, fire alarms or fire fighting equipment is prohibited.
- Open flames, including candles and incense, are prohibited in these facilities.
- Extension cords, space heaters, etc. are prohibited in the building.
- Animals are not allowed inside the building unless they are a documented service animal.
- No solicitation is allowed inside or outside of the building. Fundraising or selling of any goods or services in and outside the building must be approved by the Building Coordinator as well as all necessary University departments.
- University posting policy must be followed. The CoB Learning Complex does not have bulletin boards, instead we encourage the use of our digital signage.
- No fliers, banners or other items are to be displayed or taped in common areas of the building; these will be removed and discarded.
- Classrooms with flexible furniture may be moved, however, those who choose to alter the arrangement of furniture should plan to return it to the original layout (posted in the room).
- Study rooms are intended for groups of 3 or more individuals and are available on a first-come-first-serve basis.
- Furniture, including chairs, is not to be moved from current spaces.
- Exits are to be open and clear at all times. No tables or obstructions are to be set across exit doors for any reason. Aisles are to remain clear at all times.
- Keys must be issued by the JMU Lock Shop and a request must be submitted by the building coordinator. JAC card access will be granted upon being hired, or by special request to the building coordinator or the technology manager.
- Lost and Found items can be turned in to Kristen Herring, building manager (HART 3023) on the third floor. They are kept for a minimum of 60 days before they will be transferred to Fixed Assets and Surplus Property.
