Who We Are

Our center consists of our core team of faculty, staff, and graduate workers; our Advisory Committee of interdisciplinary scholars across JMU’s colleges , schools, and institutions; and our Faculty Affiliates who act as research partners and colleagues, furthering JMU CARE projects and initiatives.  Our network expands beyond our team, connecting us with local, national,  and global like minded educators working towards the same goal of equitable access to high-quality early childhood education through lifespan.

Mission

Our mission is to provide a platform for interdisciplinary research and practices to increase equity, quality, capacity, and stability in Early Childhood Development. The JMU Center for Advancement Research in Education promotes longitudinal data collection, interdisciplinary educational training, and knowledge about early childhood development through lifespan at the local, national, and international level.

Vision

Our vision is to create, advocate, and witness equitable access to high-quality early childhood development experiences and interdisciplinary resources for children, families, and educators across the world.
