Dr. Chelsey Bahlmann Bollinger is an Associate Professor in the Early, Elementary, and Reading Education Department at James Madison University (JMU). She has a strong background in literacy education, technology integration, and writing instruction for elementary schools. Her teaching spans several courses for both undergraduate and graduate students, particularly in the areas of elementary education and literacy.
Bollinger’s research interests include early literacy practices, technology integration in education, and teacher professional development. Her work is deeply influenced by her previous experience as an elementary school teacher, which continues to inform her approach to teaching and research. She emphasizes the importance of integrating technology in classrooms and focuses on how teachers can creatively innovate their practices to better meet students' needs.
In addition to her academic roles, she is actively involved in professional organizations such as the American Education Research Association, the Literacy Research Association, and the International Literacy Association. Bollinger is also committed to qualitative research methods and works closely with both preservice and in-service teachers, aiming to bridge the gap between theoretical frameworks and practical application in educational settings.
