Shin Ji Kang is a Professor of Early, Elementary, and Reading Education Department at James Madison University. She has taught courses including early childhood methods, social justice education, and practicum at graduate and undergraduate levels and in-person and online formats. Shin Ji is a transnational, cross-cultural, and bilingual teacher educator and researcher working with students and teachers of various backgrounds and nationalities including North & South Korea and Uzbekistan. While serving as a Faculty Associate for the Center for Faculty Innovation at JMU between 2022 and 2024, Shin Ji offered workshops, seminars, and retreats to support faculty’s research and scholarship in the areas of international research, intercultural learning, and virtual exchanges. She will continue to promote curriculum internationalization as she begins a new role as a Global Learning & Partnerships Faculty Associate in the Center for Global Engagement at JMU.
