Dr. Torabi earned her B.S. in Industrial and Systems engineering at Isfahan University of Technology, Iran and her M.S. degree in Industrial Engineering from University of Houston. She received her doctorate in operations, business analytics and information systems at the University of Cincinnati. 

Dr. Torabi’s areas of research are healthcare analytics and operation management, Medicaid fraud detection and prevention, student engagement and motivation, and integration of diversity, equity and inclusion in teaching practices. Her work has been supported by the 4-VA Collaborative, The Craighead foundation, University of Cincinnati Medical Center, and JMU College of Business. She has a wide network of collaborators including those at The Mayo Clinic, University of Cincinnati Medical Center, MITAC, Mary Washington Hospital, and CANA Advisors to name a few. She has been the chair of Healthcare, Public Sector and not-for- profit management at Southeast Decision Sciences Conference.
