History of the Festival

The Festival Conference and Student Center was built in two phases beginning in 1999.  The first phase was essentially Festival Food Court, with phase two adding the Grand Ballroom, various conference rooms, and a new home for JMU Catering.  It was originally named the College Center for what was at the time CISAT – College of Integrated Science and Technology, but upon completion of phase two became Festival Conference and Student Center.  Most events and activities are JMU related, however the facility occasionally hosts local business and individual events, as the ballroom is one the largest in the Shenandoah Valley.
