Mentorship & Community-Building
One-on-One With Your Mentor

All Centennials are paired with a mentor who will provide guidance, advice, feedback, and support during biweekly one-on-one meetings.

Small Group With Other Centennials

First- and second-year Centennials are assigned to a small group based on similar academic areas of interest. Together with their mentor, they will develop interpersonal skills, build long-lasting relationships, and collaborate as a team on a weekly basis.

Community Engaged Learning

In collaboration with JMU's Community Engagement & Volunteer Center (CEVC), we help Centennials establish semester- or year-long partnerships with local organizations. This allows our students to better engage with the community through meaningful service opportunities. We ensure meaningful community engaged learning through guided reflections led by trained CEVC student staff.

Workshops Tailored to First-Generation Students
Financial Literacy Programs

We offer programs designed to help students understand and navigate the four pillars of financial literacy:

  • Debt
  • Budgeting
  • Saving
  • Investing
Professional Development Programs

We partner with the University Career Center (UCC) to provide workshops geared toward preparing students for their transition from college to career.
