Why Can Apply
  • Per NSF regulations, applicants must be U.S. citizens, naturalized citizens, or permanent residents of the United States
  • Applicants must be rising sophomore, junior, or senior undergraduate students at the start of the REU. (Eligible students may be enrolled as undergraduates at two or four-year institutions)
  • Applicants must be willing to commit for the entire 10 week residential summer program
  • Students from underrepresented groups and first generation college students are highly encouraged to apply
Application Requirements

Before you start the application form, please make sure you have the following documents/information ready. Once you have assembled these materials, click the yellow button below to begin your application.

  1. Personal statement describing how the participation in this program will enrich your scientific and professional development as a student
  2. One copy of unofficial transcripts
  3. Information for two recommenders willing to provide letters regarding your academic or research performance/potential

The application period will close at 11:59 p.m., on Friday, February 2nd.

Notifications will be made regarding the status of your application in late March/early April.
