Join us for JMU Piano Day 2025 on March 29!
The James Madison University School of Music proudly hosts its annual JMU Piano Day, featuring a day of masterclasses, workshops, and performance opportunities with the JMU piano faculty. This exciting event takes place at the Forbes Center for the Performing Arts, offering a chance to engage with both seasoned professionals and fellow pianists.
The day kicks off at 10:00am with a recital by the participants in the stunning Forbes Recital Hall, performed on one of our nine-foot Steinway grand pianos.
Following the recital, JMU Jazz Piano Professor Masa Ishikawa will present a session on jazz piano techniques. Piano technician Jocelyn Chan will then provide insights into piano mechanics and tuning.
Throughout the day, participants will also have the opportunity to work in smaller groups with the JMU piano faculty, refining their skills and deepening their knowledge.
The event will conclude at 3:00pm after a roundtable discussion where participants can ask questions and engage in an open conversation.
Lunch is included at the JMU D-Hall cafeteria. Sessions will be held in Forbes 1115 and the Forbes Recital Hall. Parking is free at the Warsaw Parking Deck.
We look forward to seeing you there! Deadline to register is March 26.
