Dr. Rachel Grimsby has over fifteen years of experience teaching elementary general music and choir. Her research interests, while varied, are centered in teaching music to students with disabilities, preservice music teacher preparation as it relates to teaching music to students with disabilities, and relationship between music and language acquisition. Dr. Grimsby has presented practitioner and research sessions at state, national, and international conferences. She has been published in Arts Education Policy Reivew, Journal of Music Teacher Education, Research Studies in Music Education, Qualitative Research in Music Education, Journal of General Music Education, Music Educators Journal, and the Orff Echo. Dr. Grimsby is full certified in Feierabend, Kodály, and Orff, and holds GIML Elementary I and II certificates. She is a member of AERA, ISME, and NAfME. In her free time, Dr. Grimsby enjoys reading, watching movies, gaming, and spending time with her family.
