Transitioning to College

Association on Higher Education and Disability (AHEAD )
Provides several resources and "Frequently Asked Questions" for parents and students. Transition material is also provided.

JMU's Center for Counseling and Student Development
Provides information for families, offering several resources and information on the college experience.

Madison Cares is a network of university resources to support students in distress.  Fill out the online referral form if a student you know is in need of help.

National Center for Learning Disabilities: Parent and Advocacy Guides
These free downloadable publications will provide you with in-depth information on key topics that impact your child's education in college.

Office of Civil Rights - Letter to Parents
This letter addresses some concerns for families and students with disabilities, particularly related to the transition from high school to college.
