***Notice: The next Science Sunday for Girls will be held this Sunday March 2, 2025 from 2:00 - 3:30 pm in the John C. Wells Planetarium. This month we will learn about the colors of light, how they mix, and how we get rainbows. After the light activities, we will have a short planetarium show. Science Sunday for Girls is always open to all and the public is cordially invited.***

This is a great opportunity to come to JMU and look through our telescopes at stars, planets, galaxies, and more! Please check back here on March 13th for possible cancellation due to inclement weather. As always, all ages are welcome and the public is cordially invited.***
The John C. Wells Planetarium is OPEN for free Saturday Shows in 2025! We have resumed our normal schedule of hosting two Family Shows at 11:00 am and 1:00 pm, and two Feature Shows at 2:15 pm and 3:30 pm. Bring the family and friends to enjoy a show and star talk! The public is cordially invited.
The John C. Wells Planetarium is currently taking reservations for visits by school and community groups on weekday mornings for the 2024-2025 school year. Please use the Reservations link to start setting up a trip to the Planetarium!
The John C. Wells Planetarium at James Madison University is a state-of-the-art hybrid facility which offers free Saturday public shows from early September through May (except during JMU Breaks), and is also available for use during the week by school groups and community groups by reservation.
