Teddy is from Arlington, Virginia. He graduated from JMU in May of 2023 with a BBA in Management and a minor in Music Industry.
During his time as a student, Teddy served as Vice President of Health and Safety and community service chair for Theta Chi fraternity, along with being active on various committees such as marketing and DEI. He was also a member of Students Against Sexual Violence. During the summer of 2022, Teddy took the opportunity to study abroad through JMU, spending two months interning in Auckland, New Zealand gaining experience in the entertainment industry. He’s excited to take his experience into his role as the engagement fellow for the School of Professional and Continuing Education and is looking forward to growing professionally and personally while contributing meaningful work to the university and the surrounding community.
While not working, Teddy enjoys staying active by lifting, playing soccer, or snowboarding. He also enjoys reading and cooking, and can be spotted at JMU sports events
Position Overview
James Madison University’s Professional & Continuing Education (PCE) responds to individual, business, and community needs through transformative educational programs. This Engagement Fellowship position was created to support PCE’s efforts to help local businesses and nonprofits throughout the Shenandoah Valley. Duties for this position can change over the course of the fellowship at the discretion of the supervisor and engagement fellow. PCE, in close collaboration with area economic and community development partners, will create and implement programming and opportunities focused on: business and organizational development, workforce training, entrepreneurial development, and nonprofit capacity building.

They will serve as part of a cohort of Fellows dedicated to the Fellowship and James Madison University. They will also balance their commitment to the Program with the needs of their placement and the work needed for each to be successful.
- Demonstrate a commitment to the James Madison University Mission and Vision and a sense of responsibility and obligation within the community and organization they serve.
- Approach complex problems through the practice of interpersonal skills that promote teamwork and acceptance of diversity of thought regarding goals and priorities.
- Uphold meaningful and productive connections between the university and community, and be alert to possibilities for expansion.
- Explore personal strengths and improve upon weaknesses, with particular emphasis on developing career options and exploring life plan goals through experiential learning.
- Display an understanding of organizational communication and interconnectedness and how entities work together to solve larger community-based problems.
In addition to meeting the specific job description/expectations for the respective department, the Fellow will:
- Exceed expectations within their placement and serve the JMU community through their 25 hours average per week in that role.
- Work in their role for the time period of August 15 – May 15;
- Engage in an average of 2 hours of weekly program activities:
- Participate in all professional development activities organized by the program;
- Attend weekly program staff meetings;
- Represent the university at designated events and programs and serve as an ambassador for the university; and
- Adhere to all JMU policies for employees; and
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Fellowship Duties and Responsibilities
This Engagement Fellowship position will:
- Conduct research to help build programming in response to community needs.
- Assist with preparing materials for use in research activities, trainings, programming, and applied community projects.
- Disseminate information and provide regular updates.
- Assist PCE Associate with preparing for presentations, reports, and other events.
- Provide professional and administrative support.
