Engagement Fellow for the Institute for the Innovation in Health and Human Services
McKenna Mattingly is the 2024-2025 Engagement Fellow for JMU’s Institute for Innovation in Health and Human Services (IIHHS). An Ashburn, VA native, McKenna earned her B.S. in Psychology from JMU in May of 2024 and plans to continue to graduate school to pursue school psychology following the fellowship. During her time at JMU, she was involved with JMU CHAARG, a health and wellness group dedicated to cultivating a positive space for students’ mental and physical health. In addition, McKenna enjoys learning about ways psychology can be brought to the larger community, specifically in academic settings. This year, McKenna will be working with the CAPS/ISLA clinics (Counseling and Psychological Services/Interprofessional Services for Learning Assessment) to help share this knowledge with the Harrisonburg community, while also advancing her counseling skills and furthering her understanding of the factors that influence learning. She is excited to serve this role and broaden her experiences, while also helping members of the JMU community learn about and access essential healthcare.
