Dr. John Peterson is Associate Director for the School of Music and Associate Professor of Music Theory. He studies form, musical meaning, popular music,and music theory pedagogy. His co-authored articles are published in Music Theory Spectrum, the Journal of Music Theory Pedagogy, and SMT-V. As part of a team of scholars, John worked to revise and expand Open Music Theory, and he is currently under contract with Oxford University Press to co-edit Modeling Musical Analysis.
