Beckman Scholars Program

With support from the Arnold and Mabel Beckman Foundation, JMU Biotech is proud to offer Beckman Scholar awards to exceptional Biotechnology student researchers.

We encourage interested students, especially sophomores, to explore the Beckman Scholars Program. Scholars and mentors participate in a 15-month experience and scholars are provided continuous and generous stipend support over two summers, support for supplies and publication costs, and travel to conferences. Faculty mentors furnish hands-on guidance and support throughout.

Madison Achievement Scholarships

The Madison Achievement Scholarships are merit-based awards that recognize a broad spectrum of accomplishment and potential. Academic colleges and departments are responsible for selecting individuals who possess scholastic achievement within a particular area of study and demonstrate promise to the university. No application is required.

Second Century Scholarship Program

Freshman students enrolling in one of the designated STEM programs may qualify to be recognized as Second Century Scholars and receive scholarship support. The Second Century scholarship is awarded for a maximum of four years of undergraduate work, provided recipients continue in any one of the designated STEM majors and maintain a high level of academic performance and commitment to their studies. The amount of the scholarship is set at 100% of in-state tuition for the year recipients enter the university and continues at this amount for a maximum of four consecutive years.
