The Assessment and Measurement program is committed to inclusive excellence in our program and in our field. Because assessments have profound effects on the lives of those who take them, it is incumbent on those who design and develop assessments to ensure they are as fair and equitable as possible. We believe that assessments should be informed by and responsive to the values, identities, and lived experiences of those affected by them, and that this requires broad diversity and inclusivity among assessment and measurement professionals. To this end, we work to increase the presence of underrepresented and historically marginalized groups in our program and in our field, we critically analyze our own perspectives, identities, and implicit biases to understand the impact these have on the development of and inferences from assessments, and we work to prepare future professionals who are committed to the belief that all people are enriched by the diversity within our communities.
The Assessment and Measurement programs support our Department and College inclusive excellence statements.
