
Application for the 2025-2026 academic year for paraprofessional teaching fellows at JMU will open October 1, 2024.
Eligibility for Paraprofessional Teaching Fellows
All the following eligibility requirements must be met to apply to the Paraprofessional Teaching Fellows program:
- All applicants must be admitted to JMU as a degree-seeking student through the Adult Degree Program (ADP).
- All students must be considered In-State Virginia Residents according to the Office of Admissions. No exceptions!
- Must be employed by a K-12 school in one of the partnering regions (Harrisonburg City, Rockingham County, Frederick County, Warren County, Petersburg, Virginia Beach City, Page County, Portsmouth City Schools, Colonial Heights, Sussex County, Hopewell City, Dinwiddie County, Prince George County, and SOME of Chesterfield County schools).
- Must plan to major in elementary education, early childhood education, inclusive early childhood education, or special education.

After being selected, the employees will use the link that was provided in the GYO Campus Paraprofessional Fellows email and complete the Paraprofessional Teaching Fellows Application through Madison Scholarships Hub.
