Application for the 2025-2026 academic year for incoming first-year students applying for Fall admission to JMU will open October 1, 2024.
Eligibility for Campus Teaching Fellows
All the following eligibility requirements must be met to apply to the Campus Teaching Fellows program:
- All applicants must have applied to JMU as a new student for the Fall 2025 semester.
- All students must be considered In-State Virginia Residents according to the Office of Admissions. No exceptions!
- Must have attended high school in one of the partnering school districts (Harrisonburg City, Rockingham County, Frederick County, Warren County, Petersburg, Virginia Beach City, Page County or Portsmouth City Schools).
- Must plan to major in elementary education, early childhood education, or special education.
How to Apply
- Applications are available October 1, 2024 through March 1, 2025!
- Students must have a JMU ID number (received through the JMU Admissions process). The student's JMU ID number is located in the JMU Applicant Center, under "Personal Information."
- You can go directly to your MyMadison student account and click on the Applicant tab. Click on the logo for Madison Scholarship Hub and follow the instructions within the MSH to apply.
- There is a general application for the Hub and 2 short essay questions for the Teaching Fellows Scholarship for Service.
- Applications must be received by March 1, 2025.
Campus Teaching Fellow Decision Email Notice
Following the JMU admission decisions, Teaching Fellow applicants will be contacted via email regarding their application status.
Student Confirmation of Campus Teaching Fellows Scholarship/Loan Acceptance
Students must accept their scholarship/loan award by the deadline stated in the email decision notice.
