Joshua Smoot is a Justice Analyst and Research Affiliate with the Madison Center for Community Development at James Madison University. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a Master of Public Administration from James Madison University. His main research interests are in the field of criminal justice reform, including treatment courts, diversion and community-based reentry programs, and housing initiatives. He currently works with several local diversion and community-based reentry programs in the Central and Northern Shenandoah Valley of Virginia.
