EUPS Practitioner
Francesco Morini works in the European External Action Service (EEAS) in Brussels as European Correspondent. In this role, he advises to the EEAS Deputy Secretary-General for Political Affairs/EU Political Director and coordinates with counterparts in the 27 EU Member States on issues related to the EU’s Common Foreign and Security Policy (CFSP).
Previously, he served as an advisor in the office of several European Union Special Representatives, respectively for the South Caucasus (2013-2018) and for Central Asia (2010-2013). His professional experience also includes prior assignments at the former European Commission’s DG for External Relations, at the EU Institute for Security Studies and at the Permanent Representation of Italy to the European Union.
An Italian national, Francesco holds a Bachelor's Degree in International Studies and a Master's Degree in International Relations both from the ‘Cesare Alfieri’ School of Political Sciences at the University of Florence.
He also worked as a lecturer in European Union Law at the School of Law of “Roma Tre” University between 2011 and 2018, teaching a course on the EU’s CFSP. During his collaboration with the School of Arts and Social Sciences of Maastricht University (2016- 2018), he published an academic article on the role of special envoys and representatives in contemporary diplomacy.
