Alexandre Stutzmann is Minister at the Delegation of the European Union to the United Nations in New York.
Previously, he served as Special Adviser to the President of the UN General Assembly at the United Nations, Team Leader for social, humanitarian and cultural issues within the Office of the President of the General Assembly, Director for External Policies in the European Parliament, Head of the Secretariat of the Committee on Foreign Affairs (2014-2015), and Diplomatic Adviser to three Presidents of the European Parliament (Hans-Gert Pöttering, 2007-2009; Jerzy Buzek, 2009-2012; Martin Schulz, 2012-2014). His role as leader of the EP President's diplomatic team was to advise on and to coordinate the President's activities in all foreign policy related areas.
A graduate in German studies, political science, and law from the Ecole Normale Supérieure as well as the Sorbonne University in Paris, Mr. Stutzmann was also a postgraduate scholar at the European University Institute in Florence (1997-2001), where he focused on international relations, while teaching political science at New York University (1999-2001). A French native, his working languages include German, English, Italian and Spanish.
