Workshop Description: The purpose of this workshop is to provide a comprehensive overview of the Army and Air Force ROTC, VA Benefits and VALOR programs at JMU. The workshop will cover the mission and structure of ROTC, key benefits of ROTC participation, ROTC program requirements, VA Benefits for student veterans and support services for balancing academic and military commitments.
Workshop Objectives:
- Gain a comprehensive understanding of the mission and structure of Army and Air Force ROTC programs at JMU.
- Identify the key benefits of ROTC participation for undergraduate students, including scholarships, leadership development, and career opportunities.
- Understand the requirements and commitments involved in ROTC programs, such as physical training, academic expectations, and service obligations.
- Learn about the VA Benefits available to student veterans, including educational assistance and other support services.
- Connect with ROTC representatives, VA Benefits, and VALOR to support students in balancing their academic and military commitments.
- Discover how advisors can best assist students in navigating the application process for ROTC programs and accessing VA Benefits.
