Application Deadline

Admission to the certificate program requires that applicants have completed at least a bachelor's degree.

An online application must be completed a few weeks before the start of the semester in which you intend to enroll. Our Spring 2024 cohort will begin on January 16, 2024.

Fall deadline is August 16th.

Transcripts

Unofficial transcripts from all post-secondary institutions should be uploaded with your electronic application and may be used for departmental admission review purposes. If offered admission, you will be directed and required to submit to the JMU Graduate School an official transcript from any institution from which a degree has been awarded to finalize your admission. Transcripts are considered official if they are sent to JMU directly from the issuing institution.

Personal essay -

  • Please submit a 450-650 word double-spaced personal essay describing your interest in pursuing this graduate certificate in cyber intelligence.

Two Letters of Recommendation -

  • Each letter should provide information about your character, ethical conduct, and ability to perform graduate-level work. At least one letter should be from a faculty member at the last school you attended unless five years have passed. Acceptable substitutes include a work supervisor or someone who can speak to your potential for graduate-level work.
