Application Deadline
The application is a two-part process. Applicants must apply to The Graduate School and SlideRoom.
The application will open on September 15 and March 30 is the deadline.
Deadline for Assistantship Consideration*: December 1 - All applicants who wish to be considered for an assistantship must have complete files by this date, which includes application to the Graduate School and submission of all materials required on SlideRoom (Note: three letters of recommendation from recommenders qualified to write about the applicant are due by December 18). Applicants will be notified approximately by the end of the first week in January whether they have been invited to audition or interview at James Madison University. Auditions/interviews must take place by February 8, 2025.

Transcripts
Unofficial transcripts from all post-secondary institutions should be uploaded with your electronic application and may be used for departmental admission review purposes. If offered admission, you will be directed and required to submit to the JMU Graduate School an official transcript from any institution from which a degree has been awarded to finalize your admission. Transcripts are considered official if they are sent to JMU directly from the issuing institution.

An audition is in lieu of GRE's. TOEFL 88 internet-based (570 paper-based)
